Notes: This machine was installed in the Factory in 1941. It was bought second-hand by Francisco Marcelino dos Reis from an old woollen factory, located in Covilhã, that belonged to the company Campo Mello & Irmãos. It dates from 1904 and was made in Oporto. It presents 120m2 of heating surface. Wood and blubber leftover from the autoclaves were used as fuel. Its function is to heat water in order to generate steam. For this purpose, tubular boilers, in which water runs through a set of pipes crossing hot gases, are used.
